Another Quick Note about Madoff
Madoff's portrait was on the cover of Shiv'ah Yamim ("Seven Days"), the weekly magazine of Israel's most popular daily newspaper, Yediot Aharonot ("Latest News"), this past weekend. The title on the cover, in huge red letters: "The Traitor". Inside the tale of woe of Madoff's victims in the Jewish community.
In a sense, the fact that Madoff scammed so many Jews is a blessing. It gives the lie to the "Jews scamming the goyim [gentiles]" antisemitic routine. The last time the ethnicity of both parties in an event was so important to the American public's perception of the relationship between Jews and gentiles was probably during the Rosenbergs' trial in the 1950s. Then, that both the judge and the prosecutor were Jews went a long way toward stopping the trial from becoming, however unintentionally, a "Christians hanging the Jews" spectacle in the view of some people.

Actually, I have an "antisemitic" theory that fits situations like this very well. Think about "The Jew" not as a bunch of individuals, but as a slime mold -- sort of halfway between a bunch of individuals and a super-organism -- that occasionally forms Sporangia from which spores are ejected to start the lifecycle anew in unexploited environments. The Sporangia may be thought of as huge Ponzi schemes in which only a few "individuals" get to represent the germline of the organism, while the rest are sacrificed.
This explains quite a lot about Western history including attacks on innocent Jews in response to the virulence of other Jews who may have, themselves, victimized fellow Jews. Indeed, even Bernie himself may be thought of as a victim of this virulence.

The sad thing about these loonies is that despite the fact that they claim to believe this nonsense, they open their big mouths and virtually invite the Mossad to come pay them a visit in the middle of the night. Makes you wonder whether they are really really deluded or just garden variety idiots.
